Capp-dining-bistro-set3 top tips to help you spruce up your garden

With a quick tidy up, some new garden furniture and colourful accessories, you can create a welcoming space that will see you through the rest of summer.

The recent spell of hot weather has had many of us rushing to our gardens – only to find that our outdoor space has been somewhat neglected over the winter months. If this sounds familiar, don’t despair. There’s still time to get your garden in tip top shape for the rest of the summer, with quick fixes that won’t break the bank.

Tidy up

It may sound simple, but a good tidy up can make all the difference to your garden, so before you do anything else make sure you mow the lawn, sweep and jet wash your decking or patio, weed your flower beds and trim any trees or hedges. It might sound like hard work but the end result will be worth it.

Upgrade your furniture

The summer months are made for entertaining, so make your garden into a welcoming space with some new garden furniture. This doesn’t have to cost the earth – there are lots of stylish yet cheap garden furniture sets available, from comfortable rattan sofa sets, through to large wooden dining tables. If you want to create a more intimate space, you might want to go for a metal bistro set, or even a hammock – perfect for lounging away those long summer evenings.

Add a splash of colour

A bright pop of colour makes everything look better, and adding colour is a great way to give your garden a new lease of life. Try painting a wooden fence, shed or garden furniture in a bright new shade, or add brightly coloured accessories to your garden such as plant pots, outdoor cushions and hanging baskets full of colourful summer flowers.

We all need a garden to relax in during the summer months, and with a bit of elbow grease and some clever purchases it’s easy to create a stylish, welcoming outdoor space that will see you through to autumn.
